CBSE requested schools to consider choosing anyone or more Skill courses for the students of Classes IX & XI from the dedicated list of subjects and start offering the same from the academic session 2020-21 onwards.

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) introduced various skill-based courses from class 6 to 11 considering the New Education Policy 2019 which clearly states that there should be “no hard separation” between curricular, co-curricular and extra-curricular or academic and vocational/physical education/art, etc. To help students build their creative, analytical and innovative skills, and to help them choose different career options based on their capabilities, the Board decided to make some major changes in the curriculum from academic sessions 2020-21.

From introducing three new ‘skill-based’ subjects for class 11 to giving flexibility of making a vocational choice (with skill modules of 12-hour duration) to the students of class 6 onwards, CBSE is leaving no stone unturned to make the upcoming generation more creative, innovative and physically fit.

To achieve its vision, CBSE requested schools to consider choosing anyone or more Skill courses for the students of Classes IX & XI from the dedicated list of subjects and start offering the same from the academic session 2020-21 onwards. Also, the Board asked schools to offer one Skill Module of 12 hours duration as an option to the students of classes 6 to 8 for a single academic session as per its convenience.

In order to do so, CBSE schools have to send the ‘applications for willingness’ through online mode as mentioned below:

a) For starting Skill courses at Middle level i.e. in classes 6 to 8, the schools may apply using the link: https://forms.gle/RLZgmwjbYbmBXvLRA

b) For starting Skill courses at Secondary level i.e. in classes 9 and 10, the schools may apply using the link: https://forms.gle/Ty3Ed8cj3NdriLYR7

c) For starting Skill courses at Senior Secondary level i.e. in class 11, the schools may apply using the application form given below
