While revising the paper when the examiner discovered the note stuck on the answersheet, the examiner sent the note to the board for further action.
GSEB 12th Board Exams 2022: Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board (GSHSEB) has disqualified the GSEB 12th student who allegedly attempted to bribe the examiner by placing a note of INR 500 inside his Class 12 board exam answer sheet, according to media reports.
The boy is among the 22 students of the Class 12 Science stream who were disciplined, including being prohibited from taking the exam for a year, for a variety of reasons, including copying or using red pen to write anything on the answer sheet, an official told according to India Today.
GSEB declared Gujarat board Class 12 results 2022 in the month of May. “In a bid to clear the examination, a student of the science stream, who appeared by the board exam in April, stuck a Rs 500 note inside the answer sheet of the Chemistry paper with glue. Someone must have told him that such tricks might work to pass the exam,” the board official said, as per the media report.
While revising the paper when the examiner discovered the note stuck on the answersheet, the examiner sent the note to the board for further action, he claimed.
As per board examiners even from other education boards, such incidents are not uncommon in board exams all over India.
Debarred from Board Exams for a year
The grades of the student has been withheld by the test committee of the board after hearing his story and prohibited him from taking exams for the following year, according to the official.
“As a punishment, he has to now appear for the board exam in March next year. Although students who fail two papers are allowed to appear in a supplementary exam in July, this student was not allowed to sit for that exam as a punishment,” he said.
