ISC Class 12 exams were scheduled from May 4 that now stand postponed due to COVID-19.

As per reports, the Council of Indian School Certificate Examination (CISCE) has directed all the schools affiliated with it throughout India to submit the average scores obtained by the students in Class 11, Class 12 internal exams. The move comes amid students awaiting the final decision of the board about the pending ISC Class 12 Exam 2021. The government has sought two days from the apex court on May 31 to take a final call on the conduct of Class 12 examinations. The decision will likely be announced on June 3.

The marks asked by the board are for the students who are registered to appear for the CISCE ISC exams 2021. The CISCE Secretary Gerry Arathoon has sent this 'strictly confidential letter' to all the school principals, as per the reports. The deadline for schools to submit this data is June 7, 2021. But as of now, the Board has not specified if the decision seeking internal marks from the students is a possible hint at the cancellation of the exam and promotion of Class 12 students on the basis of internal assessment.

According to the ISC Date Sheet released earlier, the ISC Class 12 examinations were to begin from May 4, but they were postponed due to a huge spike in the coronavirus cases.

The boards across the country are contemplating various options for the evaluation criteria. IF CISCE follows the route of marking the students based on internal assessment, then it would be marking these students on:

  • Weighted average marks scored by the students in Class 11
  • Average marks scored by the students in Class 12 internal exams

Students must wait patiently for the board to announce its decision and must keep checking the official CISCE website for such updates. They can also stay tuned to Shiksha for such updates.
