National Award to Teachers 2024: The Department of School Education & Literacy, Ministry of Education, has unveiled the list of 50 exemplary teachers who will receive this year's National Teachers' Awards. The awards will be presented on September 5, 2024, in a ceremony scheduled to start at 4:15 PM at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi.
Rigorous Selection Process Highlights
The selected educators were chosen through a meticulous and transparent three-stage online selection process conducted at the District, State, and National levels. This year’s recipients come from a diverse array of regions, including 28 States, 3 Union Territories, and 6 Organizations. Among the 50 awardees, there are 34 male teachers, 16 female teachers, 2 differently-abled individuals, and 1 teacher working with Children with Special Needs (CWSN).
In addition to these 50 teachers, the ceremony will also honor 32 teachers from other educational departments. This includes 16 teachers from the Department of Higher Education and another 16 from the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship.
Celebrating Excellence in Education
The National Teachers' Awards aim to recognize and celebrate the invaluable contributions of some of the finest teachers across India. Through their dedication and innovative approaches, these educators have significantly enhanced the quality of school education and positively impacted their students' lives.
The Ministry of Education has organized this national level function on Teachers' Day, 5th September, annually, to honor these exceptional teachers. The awards acknowledge their commitment and the transformative role they play in the educational landscape of the country.
