Union Finance Minister, Nirmala Sitharaman today presented her sixth Budget, which is interim Budget presented just before the General Elections 2024. Nirmala Sitharaman said that PM SHRI Schools are delivering quality teaching and nurturing well rounded individuals.

Today, Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman presented a forward-looking interim budget for the year 2024, just ahead of the General Elections. Focusing on key sectors such as education and skill development, the Finance Minister highlighted several initiatives aimed at transforming the country's educational landscape.

In her address, Sitharaman underscored the significance of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, describing it as a catalyst for transformational reforms in the education sector. She emphasized the success of the PM SHRI Schools in providing quality education and nurturing well-rounded individuals.

The Skill India Mission took center stage, with the Finance Minister announcing that it has successfully trained 1.4 crore youth. Notably, 54 lakh individuals have been upskilled and reskilled, and 3000 new Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) have been established during the tenure of the Modi government.

Sitharaman proudly declared the establishment of numerous educational institutions, including 7 Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs), 16 Indian Institutes of Information Technology (IIITs), 7 Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs), 15 All India Institutes of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), and 319 universities.

Addressing the aspirations of youth aiming to become doctors, the Finance Minister announced plans to set up more government medical colleges. She outlined the government's commitment to leveraging existing healthcare infrastructure under various departments for this purpose. A committee will be formed to examine the issue and provide relevant recommendations.

The budget, with its focus on education, skill development, and healthcare, aims to propel India towards a brighter and more inclusive future. The Finance Minister expressed confidence that these initiatives will contribute to the nation's growth and development, fostering a skilled workforce and enhancing the overall well-being of the citizens.
