According to the latest development, schools in Odisha will now be conducted from 7 am to 11:30 am. However, the government has allowed the district collectors to change school timings keeping in view the local heat conditions.

Odisha School Timings Revised: Odisha school timings are revised for students from Class 1 to 12. Amid the rising temperature, the state government directed the schools to commence the morning classes. According to the latest development, schools in Odisha will now be conducted from 7 am to 11:30 am. However, the government has allowed the district collectors to change school timings keeping in view the local heat conditions.

In recent days, Odisha has recorded a temperature at around 37 degrees Celsius. In view of the scorching sun, the school timings have been revised and the government has also issued directions to ensure proper drinking water and other required facilities to combat the heat.

While students are relieved by the government’s decision, teachers are concerned over the completion of the syllabus and delay in other educational activities.

Odisha School and Mass Education department has rescheduled the time for disbursement of pensions to beneficiaries of various social security schemes between 7.30 am and 10.30 am.

As per the weather forecast office, on Monday, the state capital recorded temperature at 39.7 degrees Celsius and it is expected to touch 41 degree Celsius on Tuesday. Jharsuguda in the western region was the hottest with 40.4 degree Celsius on Monday followed by Baripada in the north reporting 40 degrees Celsius.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast a rise in temperature across the state until April 16.
