Punjab School Education Board (PSEB) was supposed to conduct the PSEB 10th exams 2020 from March 17 to April 13 this year. However, it was postponed due to coronavirus outbreak in the country,
For PSEB 12th exams 2020 last subject paper which is pending, he said the state government will follow the decision the Central government will make.
"Have decided to promote students of Class V & VIII to next classes as well as to promote class X students to next class on the basis of pre-board results. For Class XII examinations, we will follow the Government of India's decision," he tweeted.
Talking about the coronavirus situation in the state, the Chief Minister said lack of laboratories are causing the problem and though testing would be ramped up to 8,000 a day by June, from the current about 2,500 a day, these would not be enough given the size of the state’s population.
Meanwhile, CBSE has announced exam dates for pending subjects. CBSE will hold exams for 29 main subjects from July 1 to July 15. It has also announced today that the evaluation work for class 10 and class 12 answer sheets will begin from Sunday, May 10.
