Samsung Introduces Community-Led Initiative to Transform Education in India with Technology Integration.
Samsung India has unveiled its groundbreaking initiative, “Galaxy Empowered,” aimed at transforming education in India by upskilling 20,000 teachers by 2025. This innovative community-driven programme is designed to provide educators with the necessary skills, hands-on training, and mentorship to integrate technology into the classroom, fostering creativity and innovation in teaching.
Empowering Educators with Technology and Innovation
“Galaxy Empowered” focuses on preparing educators for the classrooms of tomorrow by offering blended learning experiences, including both on-ground and online learning events. Samsung aims to equip teachers, principals, and education administrators with the tools they need to integrate the latest technology, critical thinking, and student engagement techniques into their teaching practices. In doing so, the initiative aligns with India’s National Education Policy (NEP) 2020.
The programme provides free access to workshops, certifications, and exclusive Samsung discounts on devices and electronics to help educators stay ahead of the curve.
Supporting Schools and Educators Without Financial Barriers
The programme is designed to remove financial barriers to teacher development. Both teachers and schools can participate without incurring any costs, ensuring that valuable resources for advancing education are accessible to all. Impressive Progress and Future Goals
Since its launch in December 2024, more than 2,700 teachers have participated in live training sessions across India. The initiative has already been implemented in 250 schools in Delhi, with a target to reach 20,000 teachers nationwide by 2025. Samsung has partnered with Mahattattva Educational Advisory and STTAR for the first phase, and specialized trainers have been appointed to guide teachers through the programme.
Abhinav Bindra Emphasizes Education’s Role in Societal Progress
The launch event featured Abhinav Bindra, Olympic Gold Medallist and legendary shooter, as the chief guest. Bindra highlighted the importance of empowering educators with the right tools to harness technology and foster learning. "Education lies at the heart of societal progress, and Samsung’s initiative will equip educators with the resources to bridge gaps and enhance learning experiences," said Bindra.
Three Pillars of “Galaxy Empowered”
The “Galaxy Empowered” programme is based on three key pillars: Technology Upskilling, Hands-On Training and Certification, and Collaboration and Networking.
- Technology Upskilling: Teachers will have access to online training sessions, physical bootcamps, and a library of resources designed to help them integrate digital tools, such as gamification, interactive apps, and virtual classrooms, into their teaching.
- Hands-On Training and Certification: Educators will receive hands-on workshops, mentorship, and certification to recognize their achievements and enhance their skill set. Resources for curriculum design and educator well-being will also be provided.
- Collaboration and Networking: Educators will be able to connect with their peers, industry experts, and thought leaders through networking opportunities, panels, and keynote sessions, forming a supportive community focused on continuous learning.
