British Council offers scholarships for women in STEM

Applications for the scholarships for women in STEM (science, technology, engineering, mathematics) subjects are open until March 31, 2022.  

The British Council is offering British Council Scholarships for Women in STEM in partnership with UK universities. The aim is to benefit women from South Asian and other countries, including lndia. 

As per a notice issued by the University Grants Commission (UGC), a range of programmes in STEM (science, technology, engineering, mathematics) subjects or an early academic fellowship are being offered by UK universities to women from lndia, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Cambodia, lndonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Thailand and Vietnam. 

Selected candidates will get an opportunity to obtain a master’s degree or an early academic fellowship across 13 UK universities in courses such as data science, environmental science, engineering, public health systems, information technology, renewable energy & energy management and project management. 

Interested applicants can apply to the UK University directly in the programme of their choice by March 31, 2022. Scholarship to cover tuition fees, monthly stipend, travel cost

The scholarship will cover tuition fees, monthly stipend, travel expenses, visa and health coverage fees and funding for dependents if any candidate wishes to travel with their children. The Ministry of Education/UGC has no role in nomination/selection of candidates. Interested applicants are also informed that there is no need to send copy of the application to the Ministry of Education/UGC.
