IIM Ahmedabad students test COVID-19 positive; Campus restricts outsider entry
As a precautionary step, the authorities are conducting COVID-19 tests for those who came in contact with the students who tested positive for novel coronavirus.
IIM-Ahmedabad. Five more COVID-19 positive cases were detected at IIM-Ahmedabad in the last 24 hours. Following the detection of novel coronavirus spread, the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Ahmedabad has imposed restrictions on people coming from outside. The steps are being taken to avoid the further spread of the novel coronavirus. As a precautionary step, the authorities are conducting COVID-19 tests for those who came in contact with the students who tested positive for novel coronavirus.
At least five more students were tested positive for Covid-19 at the Indian Institute of Management (IIM)-Ahmedabad in the last 24 hours. All of them have been vaccinated against the virus, according to India Today.
As the news regarding students testing positive for novel coronavirus emerged, the management institute imposed restrictions on people coming from outside.
AMC imposes COVID-19 action plan
Furthermore, Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) has decided on a Covid action plan and is conducting Covid-19 tests for those students who came in contact with the positive students. Over the last couple of days, educational institutions like Gujarat Law University recorded 60 plus cases while NID reported 30 plus cases. Meanwhile, various school students have tested positive for novel coronavirus following school reopening in Bengaluru.
Gujarat on Thursday recorded 228 new COVID-19 cases, recording a 110-day high. Out of the total new cases, 26 new cases were reported from Vadodara, 20 in Surat, 12 in Rajkot, 7 in Jamnagar, 5 in Navsari, and 4 each in Gandhinagar city and Bharuch among others. The active caseload stood at 1,102.
