IIM Indore signs MoU with University of Glasgow to offer world class education
The MoU was signed online by Professor Himanshu Rai, Director, IIM Indore, and Professor Sara Carter, Head of College of Social Science, University of Glasgow. The MoU is valid for five years.
IIM Indore signed an MoU with the University of Glasgow, Scotland, the United Kingdom adding another name to the list of its collaborations with 42 leading educational institutes internationally. Indian Institute of Management Indore (IIM Indore) aims to offer contextually relevant and world-class education and research opportunities to its students and faculty, claims the official statement. The MoU was signed online by Professor Himanshu Rai, Director, IIM Indore, and Professor Sara Carter, Head of College of Social Science, University of Glasgow. The MoU is valid for five years.
Signing the MoU, Professor Rai noted that the MoU aims to encourage various activities in the research areas of mutual interest. “We are delighted to join forces with the University of Glasgow, UK. IIM Indore has over 100 faculty members, and we have the highest number of students among all the IIMs. We aim to provide them with opportunities that help them learn and explore new areas of the subject of their choice and also facilitate them in contributing to nation-building through their research,” the professor said.
This collaboration will focus on student and staff exchange, conducting collaborative research projects, and organizing lectures and symposia. ‘We also look forward to offering joint programmes and dual degrees that benefit students on both ends,’ Rai added.
Commenting on the collaboration, Professor Sara Carter expressed her joy stating, “IIM Indore is the second IIM in India with a Triple Crown accreditation. We are happy to team up for various research projects with IIM Indore, focusing on benefiting the society and the world we live in.” She noted that the MoU would also provide a platform for exchanging research information and other materials.
The University of Glasgow is the fourth oldest university in the UK, founded in 1451. It is one of the world’s top 100 universities and currently has 26,000 students from over 120 different countries enrolled. Glasgow is also a member of the prestigious Russell Group of UK research universities. Throughout its history, Glasgow has created six Nobel laureates, one Prime Minister, Scotland’s inaugural First Minister, and the country’s first female medical graduates, the official press note said.
