XLRI Jamshedpur inaugurates Xaviers Online Learning (XOL) Programs virtually
Around 8000+ applications were received for the XLRI Online Learning Programs out of which 3000+ applications were shortlisted and only 110 students got their seats in the program.
XLRI Jamshedpur inaugurated 3 masters level programs in online mode. The programmes have been launched virtually in line with the new education policy framework. The Programs launched by XLRI include Post Graduate Diploma in Business Management (PGDBM), Post Graduate Diploma in Finance (PGDF) and Post Graduate Diploma in Human Resource Management (PGDHRM). Each program will commence with a 1 week Immersion Program at XLRI Campus, Jamshedpur followed by another week of campus visit in the second year, according to an official statement issued by the management institute.
The event was attended by Fr Paul Fernandes SJ, Director, XLRI; Fr Donald D’Silva SJ, Dean - Administration & Finance, Professor AK Pani, Dean - Academics; Professor Sanjay Patro Chairperson of XOL Programs, all other staff and faculty members of XLRI. The virtual inauguration ceremony also witnessed active participation from the 110 students of the first batch of the XOL Programs - PGDBM with 60 students, PGDHRM with 26 students and PGDF with 22 students respectively.
Fr Paul, Director of XLRI commenced the programme with his address. Welcoming the students, he said, “Congratulations on taking a new step and joining XLRI learning programs. With the advanced technology and accessibility to online platforms, we can reach out to one another, connect and share ideas with our community. Together we can help each other grow in a good spirit and we will help you in every step of your journey at XLRI. We will nurture you to develop yourself as a thinker, as a contributor, as a change agent and as globally responsible leader. We look forward to a value-based transformation and a great learning experience.”
More than 8000 applications received
In totality, around 8000+ applications were received for the XLRI Online Learning Programs out of which 3000+ applications were shortlisted and only 110 students got their seats in the program.
The event was then taken over by Professor Ashish K Pani - Dean Academics at XLRI. He introduced the students to the key people involved and the faculty list of the XOL programs.
Professor Sanjay Patro, Chairperson of the XLRI-XOL Programs addressed the students and said, “The online post graduate diploma programs aim at bridging the gap between the aspirations of the participants and the requirements from qualified professionals; suitable for the industry. You will get involved in both synchronous and asynchronous learning and will get an opportunity to learn from the best experienced XLRI faculty as well as industry experts and peers over an interactive online platform.”
All the 110 new students were then given a chance to introduce themselves in 20 seconds each. This enabled the participants to know and understand each other. The program then ended with an introduction of the Program Directors of each online program - PGDHRM, PGDBM & PGDF.
