BV Ramana Reddy takes over as NIT Kurukshetra Director
He took over the charge from Akhilesh Swarup, who was appointed as the officiating Director of the institute after completion of the five-year term of Satish Kumar in October 2021.
BV Ramana Reddy has joined as the Director of the National Institute of Technology (NIT) Kurukshetra. He took over the charge from Akhilesh Swarup, who was appointed as the officiating Director of the institute after completion of the five-year term of Satish Kumar in October 2021.
Reddy was earlier working as a professor at the University School of Information and Communication Technology (USICT), Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha (GGSIP) University, Delhi. He is also the chairman of the centralised career guidance and placement cell of the GGSIP University and programme coordinator of the NSS cell of the varsity.
His areas of interest include computer communication networks, microwave and optical communications, mobile computing, Internet of Things (IoT) and very large-scale integration (VLSI).
Besides administrative acumen in technology areas of information and communications technology (ICT), he possesses an academic track record both as a teacher and a researcher. He has a total working experience of more than 33 years. Earlier, he served in various positions as Dean School of Engineering and Technology (USET), Dean of University School of Architecture and Planning (USAP), chairman and librarian for University Information Resource Centre (UIRC).
He has more than 110 publications in international, national journals and international conferences to his credit. He is also an active member in various committees constituted by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), the University Grants Commission (UGC), the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC), the Technical Education Quality Improvement Programme (TEQIP) and the National Informatics Centre (NIC).
