The Apex Court was approached by students earlier seeking intervention against the board exams scheduled to be conducted by CBSE, CISCE, NIOS, and other state boards.
Cancel Board Exams 2022: The Supreme Court on Tuesday, February 21, 2022, agreed to hear a plea filed by a group of students seeking cancellation of physical exams for the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) term 2. The plea will be heard by Justice Khanwilkar bench on Wednesday, February 23.
The Apex Court was approached by students earlier seeking intervention against the board exams scheduled to be conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), Council For The Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE), National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS), and other state boards. They also sought alternative assessment methods for upcoming board exams for classes 10 & 12 instead of holding physical exams as proposed by various State boards, CBSE & ICSE.
Class10 and 12 students of over 15 states sought an alternative assessment method for the upcoming board exams demanding the cancellation of offline board exams 2022. Last year, amid the ongoing pandemic situation, CBSE, CISCE, other state boards evaluated the students on the basis of alternative assessment criteria. Students were marked and board results were released on the basis of internal exams and a formula devised by the board.
Meanwhile, CBSE Class 10, 12 term 2 dates have been released by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE). The term 2 exams will be held from April 26. Meanwhile, the Council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CISCE) is likely to conduct the ICSE Class 10 and ISC Class 12 exam in the last week of April. The detailed timetable, CISCE in a statement has said, will be released shortly.
