From students of Central Board of Secondary Education, CBSE, Council for Indian School Certificate Examinations, CISCE, and NIOS to State Boards like Maharashtra Board, Jharkhand Board, RBSE, etc., students have been raising their voices against offline exams.
#CancelBoardExams2022: The apex court of India, Supreme Court will hear the plea filed by students from 15 States on February 21, 2022. Students move to SC seeking alternative assessment methods for upcoming board exams for classes 10 & 12 instead of holding physical exams as proposed by various State boards, CBSE & ICSE.
Considering the online education that took place amid the ongoing pandemic situation, CBSE, ICSE 10th 12th students are demanding Cancel Board Exams 2022 or postpone them. From students of Central Board of Secondary Education, CBSE, Council for Indian School Certificate Examinations, CISCE, and NIOS to State Boards like Maharashtra Board, Jharkhand Board, RBSE, etc., students have been raising their voices against offline exams.
Raising their voice demanding 10th, 12th Board Exams 2022 cancellation and/or postponement on social media platforms, students took the next step and moved Supreme Court. A plea had been filed in SC seeking an alternative mode of assessment, in place of offline exams.
With more and more students seeking alternative ways of assessment, Cancel Board Exams 2022 seems like a fading ask. In the petition students have alleged that Boards have not taken a timely decision with regards to result declaration and conducting exams, hence causing trouble to many students. Apart from seeking an alternative way of assessment in place of Board Exams 2022, the filed plea also seek relief with regards to the conduct of an improvement exam later. This has been sought for students who will not be satisfied with the evaluation of internal assessments, a process also followed by many Boards in 2020-21 exams.
