The candidature of all the candidates is provisional. In accordance with the conditions of the admission to the examination, they are required to submit the original certificates in support of age (Date of Birth), educational qualifications, NCC (C) (Army Wing/Senior Division Air Wing/Naval Wing) etc. claimed by them to IHQ of MoD (Army) / Dte Gen of Rtg (Rtg A) CDSE Entry for SSC male candidates and SSC women entry for female candidates West Block III, R. K. Puram, New Delhi-110066 in case of IMA/SSC first choice candidates and Naval HQ “DMPR” (OI & R Section), Room No. 204,‘C’ Wing, Sena Bhawan, New Delhi-110011 in case of Navy first choice candidates and PO3 (A)/Air Headquarters ‘J’ Block, Room No. 17, Opp. Vayu Bhawan, Motilal Nehru Marg, New Delhi-110004 in case of Air Force first choice candidates by the following dates failing which their candidature will stand cancelled. The original Certificates are to be submitted not later than July 1, 2023 for IMA & NA, not later than May 13, 2023 for AFA and not later than October 1, 2023 in case of SSC course only. The candidates must not send the original Certificates to the Union Public Service Commission.

The Union Public Service Commission has a Facilitation Counter near Examination Hall Building in its Campus. Candidates may obtain any information/clarification regarding this examination on working days between 10.00 AM to 5.00 PM, in person or over telephone No.011-23385271, 011-23381125 and 011-23098543 from this Facilitation Counter. Candidates can also obtain information regarding their results by accessing UPSC website http://www.upsc.gov.in

The marksheet of candidates who have not qualified, will be available on the Commission’s website within 15 days from the date of publication of the final result of OTA (after conducting SSB Interview) and will remain available on the website for a period of 30 days.

Eligible candidates through CDS exam are selected to the post of Lieutanant after completion of training at IMA, INA, AFA and OTA.

• The candidates are supposed to reach the reporting place at the time prescribed. From there, an officer receives them and take them to their respective places.
• An “Opening Address” takes place after the settling of the aspirants where they are briefed about their 5-day stay.

• In some boards like the Air force, Day 0 is considered as the reporting day and the candidates go through testing the very day.

Thematic Apperception Test (TAT)

In this test, candidates are shown 12 images which include 1 blank image. they need to write a story on each for 4 minutes. The time limit is included to check the natural response for each aspirant.

Word Association Test(WAT)

In this test, 60 words are displayed in front of the candidates with a time duration of 15 minutes. The candidates are expected to write down a sentence that comes to their mind first seeing the image.

Situation Reaction Test (SRT)

A booklet of 60 real-life questions is given to the candidates to be answered in 30 minutes of time duration. This exercise is conducted to check the perception and natural response of the cadets. 

Self Description Test (SDT)

In this test, the aspirant is supposed to write about themselves, or the context that is given. The time allotted for this exercise is 15  minutes.

OTA age limit is given below:

• For Officers’ Training Academy (SSC Course for men), unmarried male candidates born not earlier than January 2, 1998, and not later than January 1, 2004, are eligible to apply
• For Officers’ Training Academy (SSC Women Non-Technical Course), candidates should be unmarried and born not earlier than January 2, 1998, and not later than January 1, 2004

• Stage I comprises Officer Intelligence Rating (OIR) tests and Picture Perception Description Test (PP&DT)

Candidates need to submit the photocopy Matriculation pass certificate or equivalent in support of date of birth, Bachelors Degree/Provisional Degree alongwith mark sheets of all the years/semesters in support of educational qualification. 

Candidates who are declared unfit by the Appeal Medical Board (AMB) may request for Review Medical board (RMB) within one day of completion of Appeal Medical Board. The President AMB will intimate about the procedure of challenging the findings of AMB. The candidates will also be intimated that sanction for holding of Review Medical Board (RMB) will be granted at the discretion of DGAFMS based on the merit of the case and that RMB is not a matter of right. The candidate should address the request for RMB if he/ she so desires to DMPR, Integrated Headquarters Ministry of Defence (Navy), SenaBhawan, Rajaji Marg, New Delhi – 110011 and a copy of the same is handed over to the President of AMB. O/o DGAFMS will inform the date and place (Delhi and Pune only) where the candidate will appear for a RMB.

A candidate recommended by the Services Selection Board (SSB) will undergo a medical examination (Special Medical Board) by a Board of Service Medical Officers. Only those candidates, who are declared fit by the Medical Board, will be admitted to the Academy. However, the President of the Medical Board will intimate the candidates declared unfit of their results and the procedure for an Appeal Medical Board (AMB)to be completed in a Command Hospital or equivalent within 42 days of Special Medical Board. 

The various tests of IO, GTO and Psych are designed to bring out the presence/absence of Officer Like Qualities and their trainability in a candidate. Accordingly candidates are Recommended or Not Recommended at the SSB.

UPSC CDS 2 Result 2022 will be declared on September 22 or September 23 on the official website of the Union Public Service Commission upsc.gov.in.

The personality of a candidate is assessed by three different assessors such as the Interviewing Officer (IO), Group Testing Officer (GTO) and the Psychologist. There are no separate weightage for each test. The marks are allotted by assessors only after taking into consideration the performance of the candidate holistically in all the test. In addition, marks for Conference are also allotted based on the initial performance of the Candidate in the three techniques and decision of the Board. All these have equal weightage. 

The standard of the papers in Elementary Mathematics is of Matriculation level. The standard of papers in other subjects is of graduation level.

Candidates will be disqualified from the training process due to the following reasons:

• Candidates who were admitted to an earlier course at the National Defence Academy, Indian Military Academy, Air Force Academy, Indian Naval Academy, Officers’ Training Academy, Chennai but were removed there from on disciplinary ground will not be considered for admission to the Indian Military Academy, Indian Naval Academy, Air Force Academy or for grant of Short Service Commission in the Army
• Candidates who were previously withdrawn from the Indian Military Academy for lack of Officer-like qualities will not be admitted to the Indian Military Academy
• Candidates who were previously selected as Special Entry Naval Cadets but were withdrawn from the National Defence Academy or from Naval Training Establishments for lack of Officer-like qualities will not be eligible for admission to the Indian Navy
• Candidates who were withdrawn from Indian Military Academy, Officers’ Training Academy, NCC and Graduate course for lack of Officer-like qualities will not be considered for grant of Short Service Commission in the Army
• Candidates who were previously withdrawn from the NCC and Graduates’ course for lack of Officer-like qualities will not be admitted to the Indian Military Academy

Candidates who qualify in the written exam and given their first choice as Army (IMA/OTA) are required to registered themselves on the recruiting directorate website-www.joinindianarmy.nic.in. After this they will receive call up information for SSB interview. 

Candidates must be physically fit according to physical standards for admission to Combined Defence Services Examination (II), 2022.

Candidates (excepting Female/SC/ST candidates who are exempted from payment of fee) are required to pay a fee of INR 200 either by depositing the money in any Branch of SBI by cash, or by using  Visa/Master/Rupay Credit/Debit Card/UPI Payment or by using internet banking facility of any Bank.

Union Public Service Commission(UPSC) discloses the CDS marks and other details of non-recommended candidates. The marks are released as per the willingness of candidates. CDS marks are available in PDF form and comprises details such as name, father’s name, date of birth, community, gender, educational qualifications, total marks, complete address and email ID. The scores and other details of non-qualified under the disclosure scheme are released out of 600 marks for IMA, INA and AFA and 400 marks for OTA.

• UPSC prepares a list of candidates who get the minimum qualifying marks in the written exam decided by the commission
• Candidates declared successful in the written exam are called for an intelligence and personality test
• Candidates need to secure separate qualifying marks in the written exam and SSB Interview
• The final merit list is prepared based on the total marks secured in the written exam and SSB Interview
• The final selection is done based on their merit subjected to medical fitness and the number of vacancies

CDS 2 2022 is being conducted for the courses commencing at Indian Miltary Academy, Dehradun, Air Force Academy, Hyderabad, Indian Naval Academy, Ezhimala in July and Officers Training Academy, Chennai courses starting in October 2023.

During training, candidates get a fixed stipend of  INR 56,100 per month.

NDA stands for National Defence Academy and candidates after Class 12 can apply for the exam. CDS exam stands for Combined Defence Services Exam and candidates after graduation can apply for the exam.

CDS 2 answer key 2022 has been released by the coaching institutes on September 4 after the exam got over. The answer keys were made available for sets A, B, C & D for Maths, GK and English.

CDS stands for Combined Defence Services examination. The Combined Defence Services exam is conducted by the Union Public Service Commission for recruitment of Commissioned Officers in the Indian Military Academy, Officers Training Academy, Indian Naval Academy and Indian Air Force Academy. 

CDS 2 2022 exam was conducted on September 4 across multiple exam centres spread throughout the country. The exam was conducted in three shifts. CDS exam time for English was 9 am to 11 am, 12 pm to 2 pm for GK and 3 pm to 5 pm for Elementary Mathematics. There was no break between the English and GK papers.

The written exam for IMA, INA, and AFA comprises three sections: English, General Knowledge, and Elementary Mathematics. The test paper for admission to OTA comprises two sections: English and General Knowledge. The total exam duration for IMA, INA, and AFA is six hours (each section is for two hours) while it is four hours (each section is for two hours) for OTA. Total marks of the test for IMA, INA, and AFA are 300, while it is 200 for OTA.
