The CEED 2022 exam was conducted on January 23. The exam comprised two parts - 1) Objective-based Part A and 2) subjective-based Part B
The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Bombay will release the cutoff marks for Part A of CEED 2022 on February 10, 2022. The cutoff would be category-specific and will be used to shortlist candidates. Note that Part B answer books of CEED 2022 will be evaluated only for such candidates who get shortlisted from Part A. In other words, Part B will not be evaluated unless the candidate secures the cutoff marks in Part A determined for his or her category.
IIT Bombay will use a specific formula for calculating the CEED 2022 Part A cut-off marks. The process is explained below.
Formula for calculating Part A cut-off marks for CEED 2022
The cutoff marks(δ) for Part-A for GEN category will be μ + (σ⁄2) = δ, where μ and σ are the average mark and standard deviation of distribution of marks obtained by ALL the candidates in Part-A of CEED 2022.
The μ and σ will be rounded off to two decimal places. Relaxation in cutoff marks apply to reserved categories, which will be 0.9δ for OBC-NCL/EWS and 0.5δ for SC/ST/PwD.
Evaluation of Part B
Part B answer books will be evaluated for all candidates who have been shortlisted or those candidates who meet the cut-off criteria. Also, Part B will be evaluated manually. Here are a few points related to Part B of CEED 2022.
- Part B contains subjective questions
- Consequently, there will be no model answers. (note that IIT Bombay doesn’t release any answer keys for Part B)
- Questions in the section will be evaluated holistically following the set of criteria given in the question.
- Also, requests for re-evaluation of Paper B will not be entertained.
Calculation of FINAL CEED 2022 score
The result of CEED 2022 exam will be declared on March 8, 2022. The final score for CEED 2022 will be determined by giving:
- 25% weightage to Part A
- 75% weightage to Part B
