The Students and faculties of Saveetha School of Law in Chennai have conducted legal awareness programmes for women and disabled people.

To increase the legal awareness among people, the students and faculties of Saveetha School of Law in Chennai have organised legal awareness programmes for women and disabled people in rural areas and special institutes.

As per the TOI report, D Anuradha, Assistant Professor of the Saveetha School of Law took students to the National Institute for Visually Handicapped Regional Centre for Special Teacher Training College at Karayanchavadi on the outskirts of Chennai and explained the legal rights available to disabled students and the significance of the life-long learning.

While Anuradha explained the constitutional safeguards and rights available to the disabled students, the students also explained the educational rights available to these students through the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA).

She gave a presentation on the central government scheme available for disabled people and property rights available to women. 

Saveetha School of Law Legathon 2022

The institute is hosting the Legathon competition on June 17, 2022. The last date to register and send proposals is June 12, 2022. The idea is that the judicial system must meet the technology sector and find solutions to the problems existing in the legal field.

The first prize of the competition is INR 5000, whereas the second and third prizes are INR 3000, and INR 2000 respectively. The categories of participation will be Dilettante (for students only) and Deft (for professionals).
