CLAT Consortium conducted a review meeting on June 18 for monitoring the ongoing protests and its effects on the test-takers. Here's what they decided.
Amid Agnipath Protests all over the country, the Consortium of National Law Universities has decided to conduct CLAT 2022 as per the schedule. According to the press release published on June 18 around 8 pm, the examination will be held in 25 states as per the schedule i.e. 2 pm to 4 pm. There is no change in CLAT 2022 exam date or exam centres, for the Agnipath Protest affected states. The consortium also advised the candidates appearing for CLAT 2022 from the affected locations to make arrangements beforehand, so that they do not miss their exam.
The press release stated, “The Consortium of National Law Universities will conduct the Common Law Admission Test 2022 for BA LLB and LLM admissions on June 19th 2022, Sunday between 2-4 PM. The examination will be conducted at 131 examination centres in 25 States across India. The Consortium has taken all necessary steps to ensure a Covid safe environment for all students, staff and faculty.
The Executive Committee of the Consortium met on June 18th 2022 and reviewed all the arrangements made for the conduct of the exam. The Committee considered concerns raised by some candidates arising out of the emerging situation in some areas. We have received assurances from all concerned authorities of their full support to the conduct of the examination. Candidates are advised to make arrangements to reach their examination centre well in advance of the scheduled time.”
CLAT 2022 Notice dt June 18, 2022:
Agnipath protest has escalated in the last 24 hours. Therefore, candidates who have test centres in Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Haryana, Telangana, Odisha, West Bengal, Madhya Pradesh, Punjab, Jharkhand, and Assam states, are requested to be safe while reaching the exam centres and returning to homes after the examination.
The consortium has also issued an advisory for candidates taking CLAT 2022 at test centres in Guwahati, Shillong, Imphal, and Gangtok.
