CMAT exam pattern has been revised for this year. As per the information bulletin released by the NTA, CMAT 2022 question paper will have five sections having 20 questions each. Earlier, it had four sections having 25 questions each. In 2021, an optional section – Innovation and Entrepreneurship was added to the CMAT exam pattern. This section had 25 questions and 30 minutes extra were given to those candidates who opted for this section.
As per the new CMAT exam pattern, the Innovation and Entrepreneurship is a mandatory section. Thus, the CMAT 2022 question paper will have 100 questions from five sections – Quantitative Techniques & Data Interpretation, Logical Reasoning, Language Comprehension, General Awareness and Innovation & Entrepreneurship. Each section will be of 20 questions and 80 marks. Each correct answer will fetch four marks. The exam duration is three hours or 180 minutes with no sectional time limit.

CMAT 2022 Marking Scheme
- There is no change in the CMAT marking scheme.
- Each question will carry four marks.
- There is negative marking of one mark for every wrong attempt.
- Zero marks will be awarded for every unattempted question.
- In case a question is dropped due to technical error, full marks will be given to all student for it.
CMAT 2022 registration process started on February 16 and will go on until March 17. The NTA has not announced the exam date but it is expected that CMAT 2022 will be conducted in the second week of April. Candidates who meet the eligibility criteria can apply now. The exam will be conducted in two shifts in 124 cities. The exam timings are:
- Shift 1: 09:00 AM to 12:00 PM
- Shift 2: 03:00 PM to 06:00 PM
