According to official reports, more than 60,000 students appeared for the exams conducted today. 

APJ Abdul Kalam University commenced the AKTU Lucknow Final year exams from today onwards i.e. September 8, 2020, for the Engineering and Management programme offered by the colleges affiliated to the university. According to official reports, more than 60,000 students appeared for AKTU the exams conducted today. Media reports also suggest that the university has instructed the colleges conducting the exams to follow all the rules. Precautionary laid down by the Health Ministry would be followed strictly. A three layers scan was conducted for the candidates who appeared for the exams today as a precautionary measure against the COVID-19 spread. Meanwhile, a control room was also set from where the officials could keep an eye on the students at all the centres. 

According to the source, the authorities provided special barcodes in the answer copy which will be helpful in ensuring that no proxy attendance was made and no duplicate of answer sheets are made. Photographs were also taken of the students which were scanned to make the picture of the candidates in the admit card. Authorities also double-checked the signatures of the students.

Safety measures were taken against COVID-19 spread

The number of examination centres were doubled and extra exam rooms were also established at each centre considering the ongoing pandemic situation. The decision was taken to make space for the students with high temperatures. In order to appear for the exam, wearing masks was made mandatory. Students were also asked to use hand sanitizers while entering the campuses and get their admit cards checked. No student was allowed to enter the campus without admit card. Exam centres were also sanitized between two exam slots.
