The Delhi University will be implementing the Undergraduate Curriculum Framework (UGCF) prescribed by National Education Policy (NEP) 2020. As per the reports, the UGCF is of four-year undergraduate courses with multiple exit options where students can earn credits too. The DU's UGCF has been formulated in a way that is student-centric. It has been formed keeping in mind the employability, research prospects, national interest as well as international standards.

It must be noted that the Delhi University is the first central university in the country to adopt UGCF. Aligned with the National Education Policy (NEP), the Undergraduate Curriculum Framework 2022 (UGCF) outlines 176 credits for a four-year honours degree and 132 credits for a three-year honours degree, the reports stated.

The Delhi University’s NEP Implementation Committee (NIC) has recommended that the pre-existing undergraduate programmes – Honours and Programme – will continue with alterations to nomenclature and structure. Therefore, the University has designed two structures in line with the distinction between an honours degree in a single discipline and a multidisciplinary degree. Both the formats of degrees will have multiple exit options, giving students the option to leave after the first, second, third or fourth year.

As per the new UGCF, students will be getting a wide opportunity to study subjects/ courses outside their stream.  As per the new UGCF, all the students will have to study - Environmental Science and Sustainable Development courses I and II in the first and second years. They will also need to choose one of the languages listed in the Eighth Schedule of the Constitution in the first two semesters.
