Indira Gandhi Technical University to soon get new campus

Established in 1998 as the Indira Gandhi Institute of Technology, IGDTUW became an autonomous university in 2013. The university offers BBA, BTech, MTech, PhD and BArch courses. 

The Indira Gandhi Technical University for Women (IGDTUW) will soon have a new campus in Narela which can accommodate around 25,000 students. 

The technical institute is currently operating at Kashmiri Gate near the Ambedkar University campus. Established in 1998 as the Indira Gandhi Institute of Technology, IGDTUW became an autonomous university in 2013. The university offers BBA, BTech, MTech, PhD and BArch courses. 

While attending the fourth convocation ceremony of IGDTUW, Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia announced that a new campus was being developed on a 50-acre land in Narela in North West Delhi.  

“Universities play a very important role in the development of a country. Today, IGDTUW is playing an important role in social change along with the development of Delhi. We are trying our best to give quality education to each and every student in Delhi,” he said.  

Around 368 undergraduate, 131 postgraduate, and 13 doctoral degrees were awarded to students at the convocation ceremony.  

“I am happy to see that students of IGDTUW have secured good packages from famous companies. But we have to make sure that, for the development of the country, we must have more job providers,” Sisodia added.
