The official data suggest that a total of 1.14 lakh students will appear for the exams, including 36,000 “repeaters”.

Maharashtra Minister for Higher and Technical Education Uday Samant on September 19, 2020, reviewed the preparations afoot at the Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University regarding the conduct of the final year exams. According to the official reports, the varsity is all set to start the final year exams from October 1. The official data suggest that a total of 1.14 lakh students will appear for the exams, including 36,000 “repeaters”, the minister said, adding that 92 per cent of all students had opted to appear for the exams in the online mode.

Speaking about some student outfits trying to agitate and block his convoy on September 18 in Jalgaon, some 195 kilometres from here, Samant said he would write a letter to state home minister Anil Deshmukh to probe the issue. He said the agitations by such outfits were localised and done by lower-level functionaries to gain prominence within the hierarchy. Samant was addressing a press conference here.

Last week the minister also clarified that no separate COVID 19 certificates would be issued to any student who appears in exams amid the pandemic. Meanwhile, Mumbai Universityhttps://www.shiksha.com/university/university-of-mumbai-856 extended the date of application for the final year exams until September 20, 2020. Media reports suggest that as many as 2, 47, 500 students are set to appear for the examinations. The exams are now just ten days away and the students are in a dilemma whether or not they would be receiving the question banks of MCQs being prepared by various affiliated colleges of MU.
