Around 300 PG students are set to appear for the offline exams scheduled to be conducted between January 4 and 13. The college student council also raised objection to the management, hoping for respite in this matter.

Amid the spike in COVID-19 cases in Mumbai and the state of Maharashtra, the Mithibai College has decided to conduct the semester exams for postgraduate students in offline mode for semesters 1 and 3. However, the decision has been highly criticised by the students, and they have claimed that even after repeated appeals the college has decided to go ahead with the exams, starting from today; i.e. January 4.

"The exam schedule was announced in October last year and no one complained then because Covid cases were very low. By December cases started rising and we brought out concerns to the attention of the college management, but to no avail. At present most of us are scared for our own health and that of our family members," said a student, as reported by Hindustan Times. The student also added that despite repeated emails and queries to the college principal and vice-principal, they have not received any response from them.

"Undergraduate exams are all held online but we PG students have to appear for exams offline. To our queries, the only response we have received is that this schedule was announced in advance and that as yet, the University of Mumbai or state government have not announced anything against physical/hybrid classes, so exams will go on as per schedule," said another student.

On December 29, 2021, the Mithibai College had released guidelines for the students who will be appearing for the exam. As per the guidelines, all students have been asked to provide proof of vaccination taken (two doses) or a negative RT-PCR report (taken 48 hours prior to the date of exam) at the time of appearing for this regular examination in the colleges.
