Odisha State Open University final year PG exams begins from today; Check details here

Odisha State Open University has begin the examinations for final year postgraduate students from today. 

The Odisha State Open University (OSOU) today; i.e. September 21, begun the examination for final year postgraduate students. The Open University is holding the exams as per the Supreme Court's order issued earlier. As per the official notification, the Higher Education Department of Odisha has directed all the public universities in the state to conduct the examination for the Final Year/Semester students between September 20 to October 10, 2020. 

According to the data provided, close to 1,640 final year, postgraduate students have applied for the online examinations. Students appearing for the exams will be able to use desktops, laptops, smartphones to appear for the exams. Out of the 1,640 students, 1,225 students are from the rural areas while 24 are from differently-abled section for whom elaborated arrangements have been made by the government to appear in the exams. The OSOU will be conducting exams for 128 courses for 11 programmes and 16 exams will be conducted in three sittings in a single day from 10 am onwards.

OSOU Vice-Chancellor Srikant Mohapatra stated that the students have been exempted from paying the exam fee this time so that they can buy or purchase data cards using the amount for appearing for the exams. The varsity has also said that it will help students in case they do not have any digital devices or internet to appear in the exam. Students can submit their assignments and projects online and the project viva-voce will be conducted using online meeting platforms after verification of the credentials of the candidates. 

The University will be releasing the results by October 20, to help students take admissions in higher courses in the institutions across India.
