The university will give 70% weightage to CUET PhD 2023 and 30% to interview, said Vice-Chancellor Anu Singh Lather.
Ambedkar University will admit PhD students via the Common University Entrance Test (CUET) from the 2023-24 academic year, Vice-Chancellor Anu Singh Lather said. He said this will be the first time the university will grant admission to its PhD courses through a common test. It will no longer conduct its own written tests and interviews, he said.
The university will give 70 per cent weightage to CUET PhD 2023 and 30 per cent to interviews, Lather said. "We have not subscribed 100 per cent to the CUET as we have our process as well. We will also consider the marks scored in interviews," the Vice-Chancellor said.
There will be around 250 seats up for grabs across the 19 PhD programmes at the university. Literary art, film studies, management, and English are some of the PhD programmes that students can opt from. BR Ambedkar University has received 4.72 lakh applications through CUET-UG for admission into undergraduate programmes this year.
Students who have appeared for the CUET UG have to register on the university’s portal. The university opened the registration process for the academic year on June 16. The application window will remain open till July 16, 2023. Admissions to the university will be based on the CUET and the programme selection window will open after the announcement of results.
