Rajiv Kumar Garg is NIT Jalandhar Director

Rajiv Kumar Garg has assumed the additional charge of the post of Director, Dr BR Ambedkar National Institute of Technology (NIT), Jalandhar.  

The institute congratulated the new Director on Twitter. Lalit Kumar Awasthi relinquished the charge of Director, NIT Jalandhar, after the successful completion of his tenure. Awasthi, who is currently the Director of NIT Hamirpur, received a warm farewell from faculty members of NIT Jalandhar. 

Meanwhile, all deans, heads of departments and centres and registrar welcomed Rajiv Kumar Garg as the Director of the institute. Garg met of all deans and registrars and discussed various issues for the growth of the institute. He asked all present at the meeting to extend their support and cooperation in the interest of the institute. 

Rajiv Kumar Garg, former Director of NIT Arunachal Pradesh, has done his PhD in Mechanical Engineering from Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology, Patiala, and BSc Engineering (Hons) in Mechanical Engineering from NIT Kurukshetra. 

Established in 1987, NIT Jalandhar provides education at the undergraduate, doctoral and postgraduate level in the fields of science, technology and engineering. NIT Jalandhar has more than 12 academic departments, which includes the Department of Biotechnology, Department of Physics and Department of Civil Engineering. On February 12, 2021, an MoU is signed between NIT Jalandhar and Government Millennium Polytechnic College, Chamba, for skill development of the students.
