Sanjiv Mittal will be working as the VC of the Sambalpur University for the period of four years with effect from the date he assumes office.

Odisha Governor Ganeshi Lal has announced that he has appointed the eminent Sanjiv Mittal as the new Vice-Chancellor of the Sambalpur University. Mittal will be working as the VC of the Sambalpur University for the period of four years with effect from the date he assumes office.

He is currently working as a professor at Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University, Delhi. He has over 29 years of teaching experience -- including 13 years as a professor in management studies. Mittal has authored eight books so far. He has contributed many articles in journals of national and international repute, the notification added. 

Sambalpur University is spread over 670 acre surrounded by dense reserve forest of Burla town. It has been graded 'A' by National Assessment and Accreditation Council and recognised by UGC (University Grants Commission). It offers undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral programs in various streams including, Humanities & Social Sciences, Arts (Fine/ Visual/ Performing), Engineering, IT & Software, Science, Business & Management Studies, and Law.

  • Candidates must have passed Class 12 or equivalent from a recognised board with at least 45% aggregate to secure admission in UG programmes  
  • Candidates must have passed graduation from a recognised university with at least 45% aggregate marks for PG course admissions
  • Admissions to all PG courses (except MBA) are done on the basis of candidates’ performance in written entrance test, last qualifying exam, and viva-voce
  • The qualifying exam for admission to MBA courses is MAT
  • Selected candidates need to appear for Group Discussion and Personal Interview (GDPI) round
  • Aspirants can submit the duly-filled application forms online
