The signed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the University of Houston and Shoolini University enables collaboration in research and academic partnership.

The Shoolini University of Himachal Pradesh has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the University Of Houston, Texas. Through this pact five of the Shoolini University’s graduate students will get admission to the University of Houston’s mathematics PhD program.

The US-based University of Houston is a leading public research university in Houston, Texas. The signed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the University of Houston and Himachal-based Shoolini University enables collaboration in research and academic partnership. The pact will not only result in collaboration in the field of research and development but will also give a global platform to the career of Shoolini University's students. The University of Houston will evaluate and tentatively approve the students recommended by Shoolini University. This tentative approval will be sent a year in advance. The students are supposed to spend a year in the Solan campus in Himachal and then complete the programme at the Texas campus. For the first year, the selected students will be entitled to a stipend and will be eligible for fellowships subject to rules.
According to the Shoolini University vice-chancellor P. K. Khosla, the MoU between the Shoolini University and the University of Houston brings a golden opportunity for the students. He also stated that the university already has ties with over 200 universities all around the globe and now, this initiative will open more avenues for its students. The University of Houston is nearly a century old and at the university, the mentors prepare students to envision their future, launch their careers, and emerge as leaders that transform the world, Jiwen He, Professor and Chair, Department of Mathematics at the University of Houston said.
