Tezpur University to organise weeklong FDP on ICT Tools for Effective Teaching and Learning

The workshop will include live sessions and pre-recorded video sessions disseminated in online mode. There will be a mechanism to trace the participation in each session. Feedback and assignments will be compulsory for all. The details will be shared after the registration process is complete. 

Teaching Learning Centre (TLC), Tezpur University is organizing an Online Weeklong Workshop on ICT for Effective Teaching and Learning from June 22, 2023, to June 28, 2023. The workshop is being organized by TLC, Tezpur University set up under the PMMMNMTT Scheme, Ministry of Education, Govt. of India in association with Darrang College, Tezpur & Government Model College, Kaziranga.

Teaching Learning Centre, Tezpur University has been conducting Refresher Courses, Faculty Induction Programs and other training Programs including various ICT training programmes for teachers of higher education as per PMMMNMTT mandate since 2016. Since April 2020 TLC, Tezpur University has been conducting all training programs in online mode following the UGC and PMMMNMTT guidelines. All short-term and long-term teacher training programs conducted by PMMMNMTT components are considered for Career Advancement Scheme (CAS) for teachers of higher education as per UGC Regulation 2018.

"Online educational methodology, and flipped classrooms with associated pedagogy of active learning, have quickly emerged as the mainstay of effective education in this century. Blended learning has achieved great impact thanks to the interaction between teachers and students, generating positive results in the teaching and learning process. The methodological aspects used with blended learning based on the use of ICT to develop both online and virtual activities allow the participant to develop cognitive, competitive, critical and constructive thinking skills for problem-solving. The UGC has already

recommended a Blended Mode of learning where up to 40% of teaching can be done in Online mode. Thus, the knowledge of ICT tools useful for higher education and the training for the effective use of such tools are necessary for all. The main objective of this FDP is to create skills and competencies for proper and

effective use of ICT in education," reads Tezpur University's official statement. 

The workshop is open to teachers (regular/ad-hoc/temporary) and research scholars from any Indian university/college/institute. NOC or leave is not required for enrolling in the programme. Registration is mandatory for all the participants of the workshop. Interested participants are required to register online on or before June 20, 2023, by paying an enrollment fee of INR 800/- (Non-Refundable).
