Tezpur University Vice Chancellor Shambhu Nath Singh calls on Governor, Check Details

During the courtesy visit, Singh sought Governor’s guidance and support in the university’s efforts to enhance the quality of education and research. The Vice-Chancellor also apprised the Governor's overall development of the University.

The Vice Chancellor of Tezpur University Shambhu Nath Singh along with Dr. Biren Das, Registrar, of Tezpur University paid a visit to the Governor of Assam Gulab Chand Kataria. During the courtesy visit, Singh sought Governor’s guidance and support in the university’s efforts to enhance the quality of education and research. The Vice-Chancellor also apprised the Governor's overall development of the University.

 

The Governor appreciated the efforts of Tezpur University and stressed the importance of promoting quality education in the state. The meeting concluded with both parties expressing their commitment to work together to ensure the growth and development of higher education in the state.

 

Meanwhile, Tezpur University has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Indian Army as part of which the institute will teach the Chinese language to army personnel. The course will be for a duration of 16 weeks and will be conducted at Tezpur University. The MoU was signed by HQ 4 Corps on behalf of the Indian Army and the Registrar of Tezpur University in the presence of the Vice Chancellor Professor S N Singh.

Tezpur University was established as a central university by an act of Parliament in 1994. The university is one of the pioneers in the northeast in teaching foreign languages, including Chinese, with highly-qualified faculty.
