In the midst of the rising numbers of the novel coronavirus, the Haryana government has announced the closure of all schools and colleges in the state until January 26. However, during this period, the authorities have asked the schools and colleges to continue the teaching-learning process via online classes for their students.
While announcing the government’s decision regarding the closure of schools and colleges, Haryana Education Minister Kanwar Pal tweeted, “In view of the increasing cases of COVID-19, the government has decided to keep the schools and colleges of the state closed till 26 January for the safety of the students.”
The minister further added, “Online teaching will continue, in which schools and colleges will take the necessary action by focusing on the preparation for the upcoming examination.”
Earlier, the Haryana Higher Education Department informed that all universities and colleges in the state will remain closed until January 12. The date of closure has been extended after reviewing the pandemic situation in the state. Now, after the government’s latest announcement, educational institutions will remain closed till January 26.

A tweet from the official handle of the Chief Minister’s Office, Haryana posted on January 4 reads, "The health department teams will vaccinate children in the age group of 15 to 18 years in schools. The government's effort is to achieve the target of vaccinating all eligible adolescents in the state before January 10.”
