'Anganwadi on Wheels' aims to fulfil the nutritional and health needs of children who were not able to reach anganwadis due to various reasons.
On October 11, 2021, the government of the National Capital launched its 'Anganwadi on Wheels' initiative. According to the official statement released by the Delhi government, the initiative aims to fulfil the nutritional and health needs of children. It further added that the initiative will reach those children who were not able to reach anganwadis due to various reasons. 'Anganwadi on Wheels' will provide such children nutritious food as well as fulfil their educational and health-related needs.
The initiative 'Anganwadi on Wheels' was launched by Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia on the occasion of International Girl Child Day. Under the initiative, the aim of the Delhi Government is to reach even those children who are unable to reach the anganwadi due to any reason. The minister said, "Children up to 0-6 years of age will be able to access early childhood care and education by trained anganwadi workers through these buses. Nutritious food will also be given to the children.”
Delhi Minister of Women and Child Development Rajendra Pal Gautam informed that the government has prioritized its working in the field of women and child advancement. The event also witnessed the presence of Delhi Commission for Women chief Swati Maliwal.
Meanwhile, Delhi Chief Minister, Arvind Kejriwal on October 11 also launched the ‘Desh ke Mentor Programme’. Under this programme guidance related to career choices will be imparted to the students of Delhi government schools by citizens who are successful in their respective fields. The "Desh ke mentor" programme entails "adopting" one to 10 government school students who can be mentored by citizens who are successful in their respective fields.
