Delhi Nursery Admissions 2022: According to the Delhi Nursery admissions 2022 schedule released by the Delhi government’s Directorate of Education, the admission process for nursery classes commenced on December 15. According to the schedule, the first admission list is expected to be released on February 4. Earlier, Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia informed that the deadline to submit the admission application form has been extended by two weeks. Earlier, the Directorate of Education (DoE) Delhi announced that the registration window for nursery, KG, and Class 1 admissions at private schools will begin on December 15. Parents and guardians must note that the last date to submit admission forms is January 7, 2022.

Delhi Nursery Admissions 2022 Eligibility Criteria

The decision to formulate admission criteria for nursery classes has been given to the respective schools. However, DoE has made this clear that schools cannot adopt “discriminatory” criteria for admission such as parents’ education qualifications, their food and drinking habits (vegetarianism and alcohol non-consumers), their professional fields or any kind of expertise, oral tests, or interviews, or a first-come-first-serve system.

Schools often give points to students based in their residence’s distance from school, siblings in the school or if the parent is an alumnus. The authority has not imposed any significant change in the admission guidelines from previous years.

Age Criteria for Delhi Nursery Admissions 2022

Parents and guardians must note that the age limit for Delhi Nursery Admissions 2022 is three, four, and five years respectively as of March 31, 2022. The upper age limit is below six years of age for admission round for the open seats. Private schools have been asked to decide their criteria for admission, and upload them on the DoE website.

Delhi Nursery Admissions 2022 Seat Reservation

22 percent of the total seats will be reserved in entry-level classes for EWS/DG students and 3 percent for children with special needs (CWSN). Admissions to these seats are conducted through a centralised process of draw of lots by the DoE. A separate schedule for this will be released by the DoE later.
