Delhi School Of Specialised Excellence (SoSE) admissions 2022; Last date to Apply is March 6

Parents willing to enroll their wards in Delhi SoSEs must note that applicants can register online at edudel.nic.in/sose. The last day to submit application forms for Delhi SoSE Admissions 2022 is March 6, 2022.

Delhi SoSE Admissions 2022: The Delhi Board of Secondary Education (DBSE) has commenced the registration process for admission to Schools of Specialised Excellence (SoSE) for the 2022-23 academic year. Parents willing to enroll their wards in Delhi SoSEs must note that applicants can register online at edudel.nic.in/sose. The last day to submit application forms for Delhi SoSE Admissions 2022 has been extended until March 6, 2022. The authorities commenced the admission application process on February 10. Earlier, the last to apply was February 28, 2022.

Deadline to submit Delhi SoSE Admissions 2022 applications EXTENDED!

A notice on the official website of Delhi SoSE Admissions 2022 states, "Deadline for submitting application to Schools of Specialized Excellence is 06-Mar-2022. There will be a correction window from 28-Feb-2022 to 02-Mar-2022 during which applicants who wish to correct/amend information submitted may do so."

It further adds, "The competent authority is pleased to relax the minimum passing percentage eligibility criteria for getting admission in classes IX and XI for this Session 2022-23 only. All the students appearing in class VIII (2021-22) are eligible to apply for admission in class IX and all those who are appearing in class X (2021-22) are eligible to apply for admission in class XI in the School of Specialized Excellence (SoSEs)."

Delhi SoSEs have five domains of specialization, i.e. Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM), Performing and Visual Arts, Humanities, High-end 21st Century Skills and Armed Forces Preparatory Schools. While admissions for STEM and AFPSs are open for Classes 9 and 11, for other classes, admissions are open for Class 9. An aptitude test will be conducted in order to evaluate students and offer seats at Delhi SoSE. Students willing to take admission to Performing and Visual Arts schools would be required to give an audition.

Last year, SOSEs witnessed registration from a total of 26,687 students for admission. Out of the total, 2,794 students across STEM, Humanities and High-end 21st Century Skills schools were selected. Official data suggest that approximately two-thirds of the selected students were from government and government-aided schools and the rest were from recognized private schools.

Last year, the government of Delhi welcomed its own education board, DBSE, with 30 schools including 20 SoSEs. The National Capital government signed an agreement with the International Baccalaureate (IB) board in August 2021. CM Arvind Kejriwal said IB will be associated with DBSE.
