Delhi school switches back to online teaching after Class 1 student shows COVID-19 symptoms

The student attended the school in Model Town on Thursday. However, the school administration received information from the child's parents on Saturday that he had symptoms similar to Covid-19, like headache and pain.

Delhi School Reopening: A private school in North Delhi switched back to online classes after a Class 1 student displayed symptoms similar to Covid-19. The schools also released an advisory for students and parents to take precautionary measures, according to the school administration. Reports suggest that according to further details provided by the administration, the student attended the school in Model Town on Thursday. However, the school administration received information from the child's parents on Saturday that he had symptoms similar to Covid-19, like headache and pain.

Preventive measures taken by the school against COVID-19 spread

Following the information received by the student’s parents, the school administration decided not to conduct offline classes for students from nursery to class 5 on Monday, as a precautionary measure against COVID-19.

The school administration stated, "The affected student attended school on Thursday and was absent the next day. After his parents told us about the situation on Saturday, we informed the rest of the parents and asked them to take precautionary measures and also inform the school administration in such cases," it added.

Back to online classes for a day

Stating that the school is taking all the preventive measures, the school principal said that all the students and teachers at the school are safe. The principal added that there is nothing to worry about, but still, they decided to go for online classes for a day.

He further added that, while the school is sanitized daily and all required precautions to avoid the spread of the virus are taken care of, they still wanted to be extra careful about children's health and safety.
