Students of Classes 9-12 can attend physical classes from Monday and students in Nursery classes can come to schools from February 14.

Delhi School Reopening: Schools, colleges and coaching institutes in Delhi are now allowed to reopen for offline classes from today, i.e. Monday, February 7.  Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia informed the government's decision last week regarding the reopening of educational institutions. Students of Classes 9-12 can attend physical classes from Monday and students in Nursery classes can come to schools from February 14. The minister through his official Twitter handle, informed, "Delhi Govt. decides to welcome children back in schools & colleges now All schools (class 9 onwards), colleges, institutes, universities, coaching to reopen from 7th Feb. Nursery to class 8 from 14th Feb. Higher education to be completely in physical mode."

The Delhi government recommended school reopening in the national capital during the last meeting of DDMA. Stating that further suspension of offline classes would damage the social and economic well-being of children. After receiving school reopening requests from over 1600 parents, Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia had also said the government had closed schools when it was not safe for children, but "excessive caution" was harming them. However, turning down the request made earlier, the DDMA informed that the decision on Delhi school reopening will be taken later.

However, in a COVID-19 review meeting conducted on Friday, it has been decided to reopen schools, colleges in a phased manner from February 7.

Meanwhile, the central government has also released a revised set of guidelines for school reopening to curb the spread of Covid-19. According to the revised Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) issued by Education Ministry, the state governments and union territories can decide whether or not the consent of parents or guardians are required for students to attend physical classes.
