The eligibility criteria for NIFT 2023 will be released subject-wise. Applicants need to confirm their eligibility before filling out the NIFT 2023 application form.
The NIFT 2023 admission cycle has started and the tentative dates are released on its official site. The online application form without any late fee will start in the 1st week of November 2022 and will be closed in the last week of December 2022. Aspirants will be able to fill up the NIFT 2023 registration form with a late fee of Rs. 5,000 till the first week of January 2023. The NIFT entrance exam is in the 3rd week of January 2023. Eligibility Criteria for NIFT 2023 Entrance Exam
Take the given course-wise points under consideration to get a proper understanding of NIFT eligibility criteria for the 2023 entrance test:
Bachelor of Design (B.Des):
- NIFT 2023 aspirants must be passed in the 10+2 exam from an authorized school/institute OR
- Hold passing grades in the Senior Secondary School Examination conducted by the National Open School with a minimum of 5 subjects OR
- Finished the General Certificate Education (GCE) Examination (London/Cambridge Sri-Lanka) at the Advanced (A) level/ International Baccalaureate (IB).
Bachelor in Fashion Technology (B.F.Tech):
- Proper 10+2 certification from a known institute with Physics and Mathematics OR
- Hold passing grades in the Senior Secondary School Examination conducted by the National Open School with a minimum of 5 subjects with physics and Mathematics OR
- Finished the General Certificate Education (GCE) Examination (London/Cambridge Sri-Lanka) at the Advanced (A) level with Physics and Mathematics/ International Baccalaureate (IB).
Master of Design (M.Des):
- The candidate must hold an undergraduate degree in any discipline OR
- Should have an undergraduate diploma of a minimum of 3 years duration from NIFT or NID.
Master’s Programme in Fashion Management (M.F.M):
- The candidate must hold an undergraduate degree in any discipline OR
- Should have an undergraduate diploma of a minimum of 3 years duration from NIFT or NID.
Master of Fashion Technology (M.F.Tech):
- The aspirant must have finished B.F.Tech programme from NIFT OR
- Completed B.E or B.Tech degree from any authorized institute.
Age Criteria for NIFT 2023:
The programme-wise age limit for NIFT candidates is as follows:
Bachelor Courses: The maximum age should be less than 24 years as of August 1, 2023.
Relaxation in the upper age limit:
- SC/ST, PwD candidates - 5 years
Master’s Courses: No age limit.
Category-based Reservation for NIFT 2023:

Application Process NIFT 2023
The online process for NIFT application 2023 will start soon in the 1st week of November. Read the given steps to understand the registration procedure for NIFT 2023 form in advance:
- Registration– Go on the official website - niftadmissions.in and apply to register yourself by filling in the basic details. The candidate account will be created after a successful registration.
- Form Filling– The next step is to fill out the form. Mention programme category, personal data, and preferable exam centre to complete the online process.
- Document Updation– Upload the scanned copies of the photograph, signature, and other mandatory documents as per the required criteria.
- Online Application Payment- Submit an amount of INR 3,000 (INR 1,500 for reserved categories) as an application fee using a credit card, debit card, or net banking.
