Candidates who are appearing for the NIFT Entrance Examination for the academic session 2025-26 should be well-prepared and have downloaded their NIFT Admit Card 2025 from the official NTA website. Candidates are advised to read the instructions carefully to ensure a smooth exam experience.

NIFT 2025 Exam-day Guidelines and Advisory

NIFT 2025 Exam Guidelines: The National Testing Agency (NTA) is set to conduct the NIFT Entrance Examinations 2025 for various undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, including B.Des., B.F.Tech., M.Des., M.F.M., M.F.Tech., and NIFT Lateral Entry Admission (NLEA) for B.Des. and B.F.Tech. The NIFT 2025 exams will be held on 9 February 2025 (Sunday) at 91 centres in 81 cities across India. These exams will be conducted in both Hindi and English mediums in Computer-Based Test (CBT) and Paper-Based Test (PBT) modes.

Important Instructions for NIFT 2025 Exam Day

1. Verification with AADHAAR Card

  • Candidates must bring their AADHAAR Card for AADHAAR verification during the examination process.
  • Initially, biometric verification will be done through thumb impressions. If any discrepancies are found, iris scanning will be carried out.
  • Candidates without an AADHAAR card will be verified using alternative methods, and this will be recorded in the Exception Form.

2. Admit Card Download

  • Candidates are required to download their Admit Cards from the official NTA website: NTA NIFT Admit Card.
  • Ensure that you have the correct date, shift, course, and venue of the test centre as mentioned on your Admit Card.

3. Check Reporting Time and Test Details

  • Candidates should carefully check the reporting time, gate closing time, date of examination, shift timings, and venue of the test centre mentioned on the Admit Card.
  • It is recommended to visit the test centre in advance and familiarize yourself with the location and means of reaching the venue on time.

4. Timely Arrival at the Exam Centre

  • Arrive at the test centre well in advance. Latecomers beyond the gate closing time will not be allowed entry into the exam centre.
  • Pre-examination formalities require sufficient time, so please make sure to reach before the scheduled reporting time.

5. Items to Carry

Candidates are allowed to carry the following items:

  • Personal transparent water bottle
  • Admit Card along with Self Declaration (Undertaking), downloaded from the NTA website (A4-sized printout).
  • Additional passport-size photograph for the attendance sheet.
  • Original valid ID proof (PAN card, Driving License, Voter ID, Passport, Aadhaar card with photo, etc.).
  • Transparent Ballpoint Pen, Pencil, Eraser, Ruler (in a transparent pouch), and A-4 Transparent Acrylic Board (only for B.Des./M.Des. candidates).

6. Pre-exam Formalities on Admit Card

  • Candidates must fill in the required details, affix their photograph, and put a thumb impression at the appropriate place on the Admit Card before reaching the examination centre.
  • Ensure that your Left-Hand Thumb Impression is clear and not smudged.

7. Multiple Admit Cards for B.Des and M.Des Candidates

  • Candidates appearing for both Bachelor of Design (B.Des.) and Master of Design (M.Des.) programmes need to bring two sets of Admit Cards to the examination centre.

NIFT 2025 Exam Pattern and Marking Scheme

The NIFT Entrance Examination will have Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs), and the marking scheme is as follows:

  • Correct Answer: +1 mark
  • Incorrect Answer: -0.25 marks
  • Unanswered Questions: No marks will be awarded.

In case of any anomalies or discrepancies in the answer key after the Challenge Process, candidates who have answered correctly as per the revised answer key will be awarded marks accordingly.

If a question is dropped due to technical issues, full marks will be awarded to all candidates, irrespective of whether the question was attempted or not.

Important Photo Identification Proofs

On the exam day, candidates must carry one of the following original and valid photo identification proofs:

  • PAN Card
  • Driving License
  • Voter ID
  • Passport
  • Aadhaar Card (with photograph) or E-Aadhaar
  • Ration Card (with photograph)
  • Aadhaar Enrollment No. with Photo
