NIFT Application Form 2025 (OUT) Live Updates - Registration Link, How to Apply, Exam Date

The candidate can download the information brochure for the NIFT 2025 exam at:

On exam day, you can carry any of the following documents as ID proof.

• College Identity Card with photograph
• PAN card
• Driving License
• Voter ID
• Passport
• Aadhaar Card with photograph
• E-Aadhaar with photograph
• Ration card with photograph
• Bank passbook with photograph

IIT Bombay will conduct the UCEED 2025 exam on January 19, 2025.

The application form for the exam is now closed. 

The exam will have two parts - 1) Part A will be computer-based, and 2) Part B will be offline-based.

On the day of the NIFT 2025 exam, bring the following documents:

• NIFT 2025 admit card
• A valid, original, and non-expired photo ID
• An additional photograph to be attached to the attendance sheet
• The self-declaration form duly filled in

There is no fixed number of sample papers that you need to solve.

The point is you must solve sample papers to improve your problem-solving and time-management skills. So, the more sample papers you solve, the better you will get. 

The candidate can not use any other items except the ones provided in the exam hall. 

To prepare for the Situation Test, learn how to use these materials. It is also recommended to as many different items as possible, instead of experimenting with a limited set of items.

The candidate will be provided items for making the model during the NIFT Situation Test.

Sample materials include Glaze Papers, Plasticine Clay, Copper Wire, Ivory Sheets, Cardboard, Thermocol (thick And Thin), Kite Papers, Handmade Sheet, Coloured Clay, Cellophane, Fabric, Thread, Ribbon, Straw, Aluminum Foil, etc. 

The NIFT 2025 personal interview will evaluate the following skills.

• Career orientation 

• Aptness for the course 

• Overall personal achievements in academics and co-curricular activities 

• Communication 

• General awareness and aptitude, creative and lateral thinking

The GD will contain questions from the following topics:

1. Conceptual clarity
2. Knowledge of the topic assigned
3. Contribution made to the topic
4. Interpersonal skills
5. Ability to generate new ideas
6. Problem-solving approach
7. Leadership qualities
8. Effective communication

As per students who appeared in the NIFT 2024 exam, the difficulty level of the GAT paper was easy to moderate. The CAT paper was easy.

Some students found the GK and Math sections a bit difficult.

The GK section contained several history-based questions.

IIT Bombay has closed the application form of UCEED 2025.

With regular fees, the application was open from October 1-31, 2024. Meanwhile, with a late fee of INR 300, the application form was open from November 1-18, 2024.

Starting in 2023, the NIFT entrance exam is conducted by the NTA.

Previously, the exam was conducted by the National Institute of Fashion Technology.

However, note that the role of the NTA is limited to the conduct of the written exam and declaration of results. It will not conduct the Situation Test/ Personal Interview and counseling, which will continue to be organized by the National Institute of Fashion Technology.

The NTA hasn't yet released the application form for the NIFT 2025 exam.

To apply for NIFT 2025, you need the following documents:

• Copy of Board / University Certificate for Candidate’s Name, Mother’s Name, Father’s
• Name and Date of Birth
• Type of Identification–Bank A/c passbook with photograph /Passport Number/ Ration Card/
• Aadhaar Card Number/ Voter ID Card Number/ Other Govt ID
• Qualifying Degree Certificate or last semester marks sheet
• Your Mailing Address as well as Permanent Address with PIN code
• Four cities for Centres of your choice
• Category Certificate, if applicable
• Undertaking / Result Awaited Certificate, if applicable
• Economically Weaker Section (EWS) Certificate, if applicable
• SC, ST, OBC (NCL) Certificate, if applicable
• Person with Disability (PwD) Certificate & UDID, if applicable
• E-mail address and Mobile Number of the candidate
• Scanned images in JPG format only
• Candidate’s Photograph - File size must be between 10-200 KB.
• Candidate’s Signature in running hand - File size must be between 04-30 KB. 

To make corrections in the NIFT 2025 application form, follow these steps:

1. Go to the NIFT 2025 admission portal
2. If the Correction Window is open, the link and notification will be updated
3. Click on the “NIFT 2025 application form Correction” tab
4. In the log-in window that opens, enter your registered application number, email ID, and date of birth
5. Once you log in, you will be able to make corrections to the particulars in the application form.
6. Submit the application form after making the corrections

The NIFT written exam includes a Creative Ability Test (CAT) and General Ability Test (GAT). If you seek admission to the B.Des program, you must take both CAT and GAT papers. 

CAT will be conducted offline; GAT will be a computer-based exam.

You can change the exam city as many times as you want until you submit the application form.

However, once the application is submitted, it can only be edited during the correction window.  The candidate can edit all the particulars in the application form except for the mobile number and email id. 

Further, no further edits are allowed after the correction window closes.

The candidate can only select an exam city (you can’t directly select an exam center).

The NIFT 2025 exam center list will be mentioned in the NIFT 2025 information brochure. Select the relevant exam city from the drop-down menu.

The exam center allocated to the candidate will be mentioned on the NIFT 2025 admit card.

The admission portal for NIFT 2025 hasn’t been activated yet.

The portal will be activated once the application form is released. The admission portal will include updates like the NIFT 2025 application link, important dates, information brochure, and other important information. 

The NIFT entrance exam 2025 is conducted in two stages:

1. Stage 1 - Written exams, comprising GAT and CAT.
2. Stage 2 - Shortlisted candidates have to take a Situation Test/ PI

The final result of NIFT 2025 will be prepared by giving weightage to the written exam and Situation Test/ PI. If a candidate doesn't appear in the 2nd stage of the admission process, he or she will not be included in the merit list.

The official update regarding the NIFT 2025 exam dates will be outlined in the prospectus.

This is what the notifications will look like:

NTA will notify the exam schedule, including the date of the NIFT 2025 entrance exam, at the time of the release of the application form.

In the previous edition, the exam was conducted on Feb 5, 2024.

The NIFT 2025 exam will have two papers - GAT and CAT. Refer to the table below to check tentative exam timing for each program.

The B.Des program has the following specializations:

• Fashion Design (FD)
• Leather Design (LD)
• Accessory Design (AD)
• Textile Design (TD)
• Knitwear Design (KD)
• Fashion Communication (FC)

When applying for NIFT 2025, the candidate can only select the B.Des course. Specialization selection is allowed at the time of NIFT counseling.

The NIFT 2025 exam has two papers.

The General Ability Test (GAT) and the Creative Ability Test (CAT). The GAT exam is mandatory for all courses.

It carries 50% weightage for B.Des and 40% weightage for the M.Des program.

The paper will be conducted in a computer-based mode. NTA will also release answer keys for GAT.

If you are applying to UG courses, you can apply to all B Des and B.F.Tech Programs. Candidates applying for B.F.Tech Program (with Physics and Maths), will also be eligible to

enroll for B.Des courses.

However, PG candidates can apply for only select one program.

The candidate can select their admission category at the time of filling out the NIFT 2025 application form.

The program-wise NIFT eligibility criteria 2025 for the PG courses are given below.

The application fee for various categories is given in the table below.

Note that unless the fee has been paid, the application form will be deemed incomplete.

NTA will conduct the NIFT 2025 entrance exam.

There are 18 participating NIFTs that offer the following design courses:

• B.Des
• M.Des
• B.F.Tech
• M.F.Tech
• M.F.M

Admission to these courses will be on the basis of NIFT 2025 scores only.

If the candidate doesn’t follow NIFT 2025 document specification, they may have trouble uploading the documents. 

For instance, unless the file size is within the given size limit, you won’t be able to upload the document. In such a scenario, resize the image and then upload it.

The NTA hasn’t yet released the NIFT application form 2025. Note that in the previous edition, the NIFT application form opened on December 5, 2023.

So, there is an expectation that the application may be released soon.
