Graduates also work in all aspects of the emerging global fashion and lifestyle industry, with brands well-known brands.

Fashion Design is one of the most popular disciplines in B.Des course. Graduates in the discipline can work in the Fashion, Luxury and Lifestyle Industry as Fashion Designers, Freelance Design Consultants, Stylists, Costume Designers, Fashion Forecasters, Illustrators, Entrepreneurs, Academicians, Fashion Merchandisers and Buyers.

User Experience Design (UED) graduates can expect job options in leading software companies in the domain of UX & Interaction Design in the role of Interface Designer, User Experience Designer, Web Designer, Mobile Application Interface Designer, Game Designer and so on.

Students who complete the Animation Film Design (AFD) course are employed in areas like Advertising, Experimental Animation, VFX, 2D Animation, 3D Animation, Pre-production and Character Design in Films, Television Channels, Advertising, Marketing, e-Content Development and other related fields.

VFD graduates may work in Film, Television, and Advertising Industry as Producers, Director, Assistant Director, Cinematographer and Editors. Some graduates are also working with Online Media. Even others have started their own production units.

Students who complete their B.Des program in Graphic Design from SID are employed as Graphic Designers, Brand identity Developers, Logo Designers, Visual Image Developers, Multimedia Developers, Packaging Designers, Typography and Publication Designers, and so on in various fields like Advertising, Graphic Design, Communication and Printing Industry, and Professions, Audio-Visual Production, UX/UI Design and so on.

The SEED 2023 score is valid for the current admission year only. 

Using the SEED 2023 score, the candidate can take admission to any of the design disciplines offered by the institute.

The institute will conduct a central selection process2, comprising of interviews, to screen students for the student exchange program. If the candidate clears the screening round, then they may apply to the university.

The Symbiosis Institute of Design (SID) has a student exchange program, which usually takes place in the 3rd or 4th year of the academic program.

The counseling process for Symbiosis Institute of Design (SID) will commence soon after the release of the first merit list. SEED 2033 counseling registration and the seat allotment process will be conducted online. 

The allotment of seats to the B.Des program will be conducted as per SEED 2023 merit rank.

SIU Design Admission Process 2023 includes a personal interaction round. To book your slot, follow these steps:

1. Visit the official website 
2. Click on Slot booking tab  (will be activate once slot booking window opens)
3. Log in using your user ID and password 
4. Choose a date and time slots for their respective colleges
5. Once, the slot booking is complete, a confirmation mail and SMS will be sent on their registered email address and phone number.

The Symbiosis Institute of Design (SID) has outlined the details pertaining to the portfolio requirements. The candidate must carefully go through these guidelines when preparing their digital portfolios.

Details related to the personal interaction round will be notified through the SID admission portal - sid.edu.in. Further, the candidate will also get intimation through emails (the one used at the time of SEED 2023 registration)

All shortlisted candidates need to book their slots for appearing in the personal interaction round. The slot booking link will be activated on January 27, 2023.

The last date to book slots is January 31, 2023.

The candidate may be asked to draw or sketch at the time of the personal interaction. So, it is a good idea to keep handy stationery items like pen, pencil, and erasers. 

The digital portfolio of the candidate must include his or her best works. The portfolio must showcase:

• The skills of the candidate
• Passion and interest in a variety of areas and techniques. 
• Also, include only such items that you are proud of. 
• Try to be different and include unique and interesting things.

It is recommended that candidates upload a self-made portfolio and not go for a ready-made one. It is because the experience faculty would automatically distinguish the difference. And if that happens, the candidate will be deducted valuable marks.

The portfolio has to be uploaded by the candidate between April 11-19, 2023. The portfolio upload link will be activated on the SID admission portal.

But note that the candidate will be able to upload their portfolios only after they have booked the Personal Interaction slot.

The following qualities are recommended for candidates seeking admission to the B.Des program

• The candidate must possess Creative Aptitude & Skills and must be able to adapt to the situations, that the profession demands.
• Candidates who have the relevant portfolio would get preference in the admission process.

To be considered for admission, the candidate needs to meet the following criteria:

• The candidate must have passed 10 2 (any stream; eg. Science, Commerce, Arts, etc.) or equivalent OR 10 3 diploma approved by State Board of Technical Education with minimum 50% (SC/ST - 45%) aggregate marks obtained in the final examination to be eligible for the above-mentioned programme.
• A candidate appearing for the final examination of the 10 2 grade or 10 3 Diploma programme may also apply provided the results of the examination should have been declared by June of the admission year or prior to be eligible for the above-mentioned programme.

The shortlisting for the PRPI round will be done on the basis of the performance of the candidate in the written exam or SEED 2023.

Candidates whose names appear in the shortlist published on January 27, 2023, have to next appear in a Portfolio Review and Personal Interaction (PRPI). The PRPI will be conducted in an online mode.

To participate in the PRPI, eligible candidates will have to book slots between January 27-31, 2023.

The final admission to the B.Des program will be done based on the following parameters:

• Symbiosis Entrance Exam for Design (SEED)
• Portfolio Review 
• PRPI Task and Personal Interaction 

Additionally, the admission committee will also consider the information provided by the candidate in the application form and the chosen specialization.

Admission to the B.Des program at the Symbiosis Institute of Design (SID) will be conducted in the following steps.

• Level 1 - The candidate has to first appear in the Online Symbiosis Entrance Exam for Design (SEED). If the candidate qualifies SEED, then he/she have to next appear for a Portfolio Review and Personal Interaction (PRPI) round. 
• Level 2 - Eligible candidates have to next Upload their Portfolio on the portal a day prior to the PRPI. 
• Level 3 - The candidate has to next perform the PRPI Task. The task will be shared with the candidate 3 days prior to the PRPI. Upload the PRPI Task on the portal a day prior to the PRPI.
• Level 4 - The candidate has to next appear for the online Portfolio Review and Personal Interaction (PRPI)

The results of the SEED 2023 exam will be used to shortlist candidates for the next round of the admission process. 

The scores of the exam will be used to shortlist candidates for a PRPI round. The shortlist will be announced on January 27, 2023.

The SID admission is a multi-layered process. Candidates who qualify in the SEED 2023 exam will get shortlisted and have to next appear in a Portfolio Review and Personal Interaction (PRPI) round.

The SEED 2023 exam was an hour-long exam that was held on January 15, 2023, between 11 am and 4 pm. The SEED 2023 question paper included 60 questions; meaning the candidate had exactly 1 minute to answer a question.

The question paper includes MCQ, Match the Columns, Fill in the blanks, and image-based and comprehension-based questions.

The results of the SEED 2023 exam will be declared on January 23, 2023. The results would be declared for all candidates who have appeared in the online, remote-proctored exam which was conducted on January 15, 2023.

Note that hardcopies of the result will not be sent to the candidate.
