UCEED Counselling Process 2024: The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bombay is all set to commence the UCEED 2024 counseling process from March 14. Candidates who have qualified the UCEED 2024 Exam and have secured a rank in the UCEED 2024 merit can apply for the UCEED 2024 counselling process. UCEED 2024 counselling will conclude on March 31, 2024. The institute has announced the UCEED Result 2024 on March 8, 2024. Candidates who appeared for the UCEED 2024 Exam may check their qualifying status by logging into the UCEED 2024 result portal.

UCEED 2024 Counselling Fee

No applications for UCEED Counselling 2024 will be accepted without the payment of UCEED 2024 counselling fee. To register for counseling, candidates are required to pay a counseling fee of INR 4000, fill in personal particulars, and select institutes in the order of preference.

UCEED 2024 Counselling Process Explained

UCEED 2024 counselling process is divided into four below-mentioned steps:

  • Submission of B Des admission application form/ Register for UCEED 2024 Counselling
  • Allotment of seats / Acceptance and Payment of Seat-acceptance Fee
  • Post seat allotment options
  • Reporting to the allotted institute

Step 1: How to Register for UCEED 2024 Counselling?/ How to submit B.Des admission application form?

Registering for UCEED 2024 counselling process or submitting B.Des admission application form is one and the same thing. Candidates may proceed for the same by following the steps mentioned below:

  • Visit the official website of exam - uceed.iitb.ac.in
  • Click on the BDes application portal button
  • Login to the account using your registered email ID and password
  • Fill BDes application form
  • Select participating institutes in order of preference
  • Upload scanned copies of prescribed documents (listof documents mentioned below)
  • Pay the application fee of INR 4,000through net banking, debit card, or credit card
  • Submit the B.Des admission application form

Step 2: UCEED 2024 Seat Allotment

UCEED counseling will be conducted online as a Joint Seat Allotment process. The Counselling process for UCEED 2024 will have three seat-allotment rounds. Candidates must note that the institute will release the first seat allotment of UCEED 2024 will be announced on April 10, 2024. The allotment of seats to the B.Des program will be based on the All India Rank (merit order) of candidates, reservation category, and seat availability in each institute.

How to Check UCEED 2024 Seat Allotment Result

Candidates had to check UCEED seat allotment result by following the steps mentioned below:

  • Go to the official counseling portal
  • Under the Announcements section, click on the relevant seat allotment PDF link
  • Download and save the UCEED seat allotment PDF 
  • Note that no login is required to check the seat allotment result.

UCEED 2024 Seat Acceptance Fee

Candidates have to pay the UCEED 2024 seat acceptance fee after the allotment of seats. UCEED 2024 Seat Acceptance Fee is INR. 60,000 for General Category Candidates. For SC, ST, and PwD candidates, the UCEED 2024 seat acceptance fee is INR 15,000. The seat allotment is canceled and allocated to the candidate next in the order of merit if any candidate fails to make the payment.

Step 3: UCEED 2024 Post-seat allotment options

Allotment of FIRST Choice Institute: If a candidate is offered his/her FIRST choice of the institute, the candidate can choose to ACCEPT (FREEZE) or DECLINE the offer. Note that if the seat is declined, the candidate will not be considered for seat allotment in any subsequent rounds. Also, the current allocation will be canceled.

Allotment of SECOND/THIRD choice of the institute - In this case, the candidate has two options before him/her: to ACCEPT (FREEZE) the choice or ACCEPT with the OPTION to be CONSIDERED for UPWARD MOVEMENT (β€˜float’) for subsequent rounds (if any).

  • If the candidate accepts the seat, then he/she will not be considered for subsequent rounds as the current allocation is confirmed.
  • If a candidate opts for the β€œFLOAT” option, the candidate may be offered a higher preference seat (if available) in a subsequent round. The candidate then has the option to accept the higher preference seat or decline it.
  • If the higher preference seat is accepted, the seat allocated in the previous round will automatically get canceled.
  • If the candidate declines the higher preference seat or no higher preference seat is offered (or available), the candidate will continue to hold the current allocation.
  • Last round of seat allotment
  • There will be no option to withdraw/ decline an accepted/ allotted seat after the seat allotment results have been announced in the last round.

Step 4: Reporting at Allotted College

Post the UCEED 2024 Seat Acceptance Process and making the payment, the candidate has to report to the allotted college and complete all admission formalities. At the time of reporting, the candidate must bring with them originals and photocopies of all essential documents.
