Candidates who have been allotted seats need to accept their seats or opt for upgrade latest by May 26. In case the candidate declines the seat, no seat acceptance fee needs to be paid.
IIT Bombay will allow candidates to accept (freeze) the allotted seat or opt for upgrade and pay the seat acceptance fee for Round II latest by May 26, 2022. Such candidates who want to withdraw their allotted seats can do so till June 5, 2022. The seat acceptance and payment of fees can be done online at the official website of IIT Bombay - uceed.iitb.ac.in.
The seat acceptance fee for open-category candidates is Rs. 60,000, whereas SC, ST, and PwD candidates need to pay Rs. 15,000.
UCEED 2022 - Seat Acceptance and Fee Payment Rules for Round II
Candidates who have been allotted a seat in Round II have the following options:
- Accept (freeze) the seat and pay the seat acceptance fee. Post fee payment the seat will be confirmed and the candidate will not be considered for upgrade or allotment in subsequent rounds.
- Decline the seat - The candidate may also decline the seat and not pay the seat aceptance fee. In this case, the candidate will be out of the admission process altogether.
- Upgrade (float) option - If this option is selected, the candidate retains the current allotment, but if there is a higher preference seat available, the candidate will be allotted the seat. In this case, the seat allotted in the previous round gets cancelled.
