With the delay in the release of final semester results, many students missed their admission to various central and state universities for postgraduate courses. Considering the delay harming the career prospectus of these students, Union Education Minister urged Odisha CM to intervene.
Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan has asked Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik’s to intervene in issuing provisional marksheets or results for the final semester to students enrolled in undergraduate (UG) courses in the state. The colleges and universities of the state have delayed releasing the results for final semester UG students. According to various media reports, Pradhan wrote a letter to Patnaik stating, “Despite repeated pleas to colleges and state education authorities, these students have not been provided with professional marksheets. I am also in receipt of multiple grievances in this regard from the student community in Odisha.”
Highlight the effects of delayed results on the career prospects of the students, Pradhan expressed the need of publishing provisional results. He further added that in order take admission to post-graduation courses, students are required to submit their final or provisional marksheets of UG course. The admission procedure for PG courses has already commenced in various state and central universities across the nation. Expressing his distress over how students have missed the admission to their dream college due to the delay in results, the minister added that the students are under pressure due to fast-approaching deadlines for other varsities such as Mumbai University.
Media sourced stated that asking Odisha CM to intervene, Pradhan added, “Keeping in mind the welfare and career prospects of final semester undergraduate students in Odisha, I seek your urgent attention in undertaking necessary action for the immediate issue of final marksheets or attested provisional marksheets to them so that they may be able to pursue postgraduate admissions into various state and central universities in India.”
