3 BTech courses at Cusat receive NBA accreditation
The three programmes that have received NBA accreditation are Information Technology, Computer Science and Engineering, and Electrical and Electronics Engineering.
Three BTech programmes offered by the School of Engineering (SoE) at the Cochin University of Science and Technology (Cusat) have received accreditation by the National Board of Accreditation (NBA) under its Tier-I (Washington Accord) system. The accreditation is valid for three years.
The three programmes that have received NBA accreditation are Information Technology, Computer Science and Engineering, and Electrical and Electronics Engineering. The NBA team had inspected the school and evaluated the courses from October 28 to 30, The Hindu reported.
As per an official release, the accreditation is intended to ease the mobility of engineering graduates of the Washington Accord signatory countries for their higher studies and employability at the international level.
Out of the seven BTech programmes offered in various disciplines at the School of Engineering, three received NBA accreditation last week under the Tier-1 category, for which evaluation was completed by a seven-member NBA expert team from October 28 to 30. The remaining four BTech programmes offered by the university were evaluated by a nine-member expert team recently, the results of which are awaited.
NBA nod for 5 BTech courses at NIT Calicut
Five BTech programmes offered by the National Institute of Technology (NIT) Calicut have been accorded accreditation status for six years by the National Board of Accreditation (NBA), New Delhi, The accreditation is for programmes in civil engineering, mechanical engineering, electrical and electronics engineering, electronics and communication engineering, and computer science and engineering during the 2022-2028 period.
