3-day global alumni meet begins at NIT Rourkela today

The institute is hosting diamond jubilee global alumni meet between December 28 and 30, 2022. 

The Centre for Alumni, Industry and International Relations, National Institute of Technology (NIT) Rourkela, is hosting a three-day diamond jubilee global alumni meet between December 28 and 30, 2022. The inaugural ceremony of the event followed by a cultural programme is scheduled for today (December 28, 2022). 

Two of the alumni CP Gurnani, chief executive officer and managing director, Tech Mahindra, and Shrikant Madhav Vaidya, Chairman, Indian Oil Corporation Ltd, will be the chief guest and guest of honour.  

180 alumni members to attend event 

NIT Rourkela Director Prof K Umamaheshwar Rao will preside over the inaugural session. A total of 180 alumni members, including some from the United States, the United Arab Emirates, Japan, Qatar, Kuwait, and Nepal, are attending the event. 

On Day 2, ‘Leadership Conclave’ and ‘Women Achievers Conclave’ will be held, while on Day 3, ‘Young Achievers Conclave’ will take place. A panel discussion for industry development, tree plantation and various other activities will also be organised during the global alumni meet of NIT Rourkela.
