45 students from Delhi govt schools among top scorers in JEE Main
Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia said there is no dearth of talent in Delhi government school students. They can also work hard and crack tough exams like JEE if given an opportunity.
Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia met and interacted with 45 students from Delhi government schools who secured above 98 percentile in JEE Main exam. Lauding the students, Sisodia said, “There is no dearth of talent in Delhi government school students; if given an opportunity, they can also work hard and crack tough exams like JEE.”
“Our schools come from varied socio-economic backgrounds and have seen the toughest times in their lives, but still they are determined to achieve their goals. Hard work of students and teachers along with facilities such as upgraded libraries, free coaching classes, and reading rooms have contributed to this success,” Sisodia said.
As per an official notification, last year, 496 students of Delhi government schools qualified for JEE Main and thereafter 74 cleared the JEE Advanced exam that allows admissions into Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs).
Chief Minister M Arvind Kejriwal also congratulated students on Twitter. He wrote, “When our children become successful after studying, they will also take the country forward. Along with them, the hard work of their parents, all the teachers and the entire team of Delhi Education has also contributed a lot in this stupendous success of these children of Delhi. Congratulations to all.”
