48,000 students conferred degrees at GTU annual convocation

Rushikesh Patel, State Education Minister, was the chief guest at the convocation ceremony, while Praful Pansheriya, the Minister of State for Primary, Secondary, Adult and Higher Education, was the guest of honour. 

Gujarat Technological University (GTU) conferred degrees upon 48,881 students at the 12th annual convocation of the university today, February 2, 2023. 

Rushikesh Patel, State Education Minister, was the chief guest, while Praful Pansheriya, the Minister of State for Primary, Secondary, Adult and Higher Education, was the guest of honour. Incharge VC presided over the function as Navin Sheth’s term ended in December 2022. 

Government forms search committee for new GTU VC 

The state education department has completed the process of forming a four-member search committee for appointing GTU Vice-Chancellor. Chairman of the committee will be Dinesh Dasa, former chairman of Gujarat Public Service Commission (GPSC). 

The members of the search committee are Prof Anupam Shukla, director, Sardar Vallabhbhai National Institute of Technology (SVNIT), Surat; Prof Shantanu Bhattacharya from Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bengaluru; Prof NC Gautam, Vice-Chancellor of Mahatma Gandhi Chitrakoot Gramodaya Vishwavidyalaya, Agra. Sources said that the first meeting of the search committee would be held soon.
