55 graduands awarded degrees at IIIT Trichy’s 4th convocation

Degrees were conferred upon 27 computer science engineering (CSE) graduands and 28 electronics and communication engineering (ECE) graduands. 

Dinesh Vikram V (CSE) and Nunna Lakshmi Saranya (ECE) Roll of Honour gold medals. Dinesh also bagged the Institute Gold Medal for overall best academic performance. Prof Mini Shaji Thomas, Dean, Faculty of Engineering and Technology, and Professor, Department of Electrical Engineering, Jamia Millia Islamia, New Delhi, was the chief guest on the occasion.

Mini Shaji Thomas was the first woman Director of the National Institute of Technology, Tiruchirappalli (NIT, Trichy) from 2016 to 2021 and the Mentor Director of IIIT Tiruchirappalli from 2016 to 2019. She delivered the convocation address and urged the students to take risks and grab opportunities, be lifelong learners and be compassionate and humane.  

IIIT) Tiruchirappalli Director Prof NVSN Sarma read out the annual report of the institute. Prof MV Kartikeyan, Director, Indian Institute of Information Technology, Design and Manufacturing, (IIITDM) Kancheepuram and Prof R Velraj, Vice-Chancellor, Anna University, also attended the convocation ceremony. 

Admission to the IIIT Trichy BTech course is based on JEE Main/ JEE Advanced scores followed by JoSAA Counselling 2022. Apart from BTech, IIIT Trichy offers admission to MTech and MTech- PhD (Dual Degree) course GATE CCMT (Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering -Centralised Counselling for MTech / MArch/ MPlan). GATE CCMT has been concluded after six rounds of cutoffs. CCMT concluded GATE with the release of the National Spot Round Seat Allotment result for admission to IIIT Trichy MTech course.
